There he goes!

Ethan's been crawling for awhile now, but he just recently decided to explore the rest of the house. He's gotten to be pretty quick too! It seems like only yesterday when we could lay him down and he would stay there.

Happy anniversary!

Tuesday, June 24th was our 3rd anniversary! Yippee! Jonathan had to work, but he was off Wednesday, so we celebrated a day late. So, first we dropped Ethan off at Grandma and Pa Pa's where his Aunt Rachel was waiting to babysit him, and we went to Silsbee to watch Kung Fu Panda at four o'clock. I thought it was really cute, plus it only cost $1.50, so that made it even better. Later that night we went to the mall and I bought a shirt at Express for ten bucks! I love that price! Then, we got to go to my very favorite restaurant...TOKYO! We ate some delicious sushi rolls (my favorite is the California roll with avacado and crab, yum!). I'm so glad Jonathan likes that place as much as I do, so it was a no-brainer when it came to picking a restaurant. After that we picked up Ethan from Nana and Granddad's house, and stopped for a cone at Dairy Queen. After we got Ethan to bed, we stayed up watching some episodes of Lost on the computer. We're really into that show, so it's cool that we can watch full episodes online, that way we never miss anything! It was just such a good day. We don't get to go out much, so this was a special treat. I really enjoyed getting to spend the day with Jonathan. I'm so grateful for him and the three years we've spent together. I wish for tons of anniversaries like this one.

Poor little guy

Ethan got a couple shots on Tuesday when he went for his 6 month check up. The poor little guy has been running a fever, so we've been trying to ease the pain with Tylenol. I hate to see him feeling bad, but it's cute when he's extra cuddly.

He was watching Baby Einstein and just laid his head down on my leg and fell asleep. So sweet.

In this video he's watching Baby Einstein again. It's pretty much his favorite thing and I'm so glad because he doesn't want to play much when he's sick.

Daddy Day

It was so cute to watch them open presents together. Of course, Ethan had to have his shirt off. That's just what guys do.

This is such a sweet picture. Ethan fell asleep while eating, and yes, he was holding his own bottle. Jonathan loves his little boy so much, and I love to see them together. I'm sure there was a time when I couldn't picture Jonathan having kids and changing diapers, but now it makes perfect sense. He's such a great daddy and he's already decided to be the fun one, which comes naturally to him. I get to be the one that tells the kids to do chores and stuff, and he'll let them get away with things. I can't wait to have more kids and see their daddy teach them to ride bikes, tie their shoes, and swim without floaties. He's so easy going and has fun no matter what we're doing. I hope Ethan gets those traits from his daddy, instead of my more stressed personality. Life is much more fun when you don't sweat the little things, and Jonathan has taught me that. Thanks Jonathan for being such a great daddy! We love you!
.......For Father's Day, Ethan and I got Jonathan an ipod and some things to go with it so he can use it while he runs/works out. He wants to start exercising more, so hopefully this will help make it more fun. Ethan was very interested in the presents. It was his first time to help open them, and he did a great job. That night we went to the Ochoa's for a delicious gumbo supper. I made a couple lemon meringue pies for dessert. It was my second attempt at this pie, and it turned out to be a slight disaster (a "slight" distaster is better than a "complete" disaster, so it could've been worse). I accidentally burned the meringue on top, but luckily, you can just scrape that part off and make a new meringue. So voila! It was as good as new. The supper was great and we even had banana pudding, yum! Later, we went to my dad's house and had a good visit with my family. It seems like every year my dad gets movies and peanut butter cups, a great combination. We decided to get him a shirt, which was good because he got 3 movies, a package of peanut butter cups, and a package of Snickers candy bars. Perfect! That's just enough candy to last through the movies.

The destroyer

Ethan used to really like this toy, back when he was a "baby". Now that he's almost 6 months, he's much stronger, and seems to be sick and tired of those dumb baby toys. I'm afraid we've created a monster!

Little Jerry Seinfeld

Rachel has a dog named Little Jerry Seinfeld (Jonathan named it and then gave it up for adoption), and apparently he is hilarious. Who knew? Every time Little Jerry would fetch his toy, Ethan would crack up laughing. We love when that happens!

He has teeth!

I know we already told y'all about Ethan's tooth, but now he has teeth! There are two little ones on the bottom! It took some wrangling to get to them, though. I guess he doesn't like to brag.

The 4 Musketeers reunite!

The last time the 4 Musketeers were together was in March, but last week they were able to reunite! They are in age order, same as before, starting with Bryn, Roman, Ethan, and Aaliyah. It's so much fun to see them getting bigger and even cuter!

My sister, Sarah, came to visit from Ohio to attend her class reunion last week. She wasn't able to stay long, but we were so glad to get to spend time with her and little Roman. He's gotten a lot of hair since the last time we saw him and is looking so grown up!

Our slumber party

Last week we had a little slumber party! Travis's kids, Khalil and Aaliyah, came over to spend the night. Khalil is 2 and Aaliyah is four days younger than Ethan, so I was a little worried about taking care of two 5-month-old babies at the same time. Luckily, Ethan went straight to bed when we got home, so I only had to the other two. They were both very well-behaved, so it was no problem at all. Khalil was so happy to take a bath, while Aaliyah entertained herself with some toys. He was a little cranky when he got sleepy, but who isn't? We took Khalil swimming with us the next day and he had a great time playing on the steps. Those kids are so sweet, we just love 'em!

Ethan's update

Ethan is 5 1/2 months old and he's been doing some growing up. He recently started crawling! He's not exactly coordinated yet, but he can get to where he wants to go, so it totally counts!

He has also learned to sit up on his own! If he concentrates, he can balance pretty well, but eventually falls over. Still, this counts!

We are also teaching him how to drive. We thought we'd start him off with a standard, as a stick shift can get tricky. Ok, not really, but he has gotten his first tooth! It's just starting to poke out the bottom. It's been pretty exciting aroung here lately. We are very proud of all his accomplishments.
